students prepare for the counterpoint examination
offered by the
Royal Conservatory of Music of Canada and the National
Music Certificate Program in the U.S.A. This edition is based on the
requirements of the 2009 Theory Syllabus.

Answer Key: The answer key is intended for use by teachers and students engaged in self-directed study. Directions on how to download the Understanding Counterpoint answer key pdf files are included in the book.
Second Printing Changes: In April 2011, Understanding Counterpoint went into its second printing. In this printing, there are six pages with significant differences to the first printing. If you are using a text from the first printing, in Extras you may download and print a pdf of the affected pages. For those requiring the answer key, the revised pages are available via the same method as acquiring the full answer key.
